A 4 day intensive Jazz Academy for young musicians


About Jazz Academy

For the first time the Balkan Academy of Music (BAM) will take place in the town of Bijelo Polje, Montenegro. 6 Internationally acclaimed musicians will lead an intensive course (18-21.09.2019) covering various aspects of Jazz. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for young musicians from the region to work alongside and learn from International artists. This year the focus will be on „transformation“ as we explore different possibilities to take Balkan songs and use them as a base for improvisation. As well as smaller combos there will be a large ensemble comprising of all the participants. Each day will consist of classes, combos, and evening concerts and sessions.

Terms and conditions

If you are a young musician from Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Kosovo*, Albania up to the age of 26, you are welcome to participate. Travel and accommodation costs and tuition fees are covered, and here are the dates of the arrival and the departure:

The arrival: Tuesday, September 17th,

The departure: Sunday, September 22nd.
